Elmcards was created in 2005, when I was faced with the annual dilemma of buying a birthday card for my mother. Upon reading card after card, I finally became discouraged by the impersonal sayings and prefabricated designs I was offered. Not to mention the sticker shock when flipping the card over!  Therefore, I decided to use my originality and set out to create my own.  Based on the responses I got from that birthday card, elmcards was born.

My full name is Erin Laura Mattson, which is where the name, elmcards originated from. My brother, Anders, (who, did I mention is the brains behind this operation?) decided on the Elm Tree as our logo due to its strength and beauty, much like our greeting cards!

Living in upstate NY, I am inspired by creating cards using the colors and images I see in the great outdoors of the Adirondacks. I am very passionate about color (especially bright ones), and you will find none of my cards are lacking in the color department!  I feel that greeting cards are meant to brighten someone’s day and I hope you find that reflected in my work.
